The main issue is the November 2022 phishing incident. Attackers fished API keys through fake 3Commas sites and then used them to run pump-and-dump trades on victim accounts with DOGE. 3Commas paid out $3M in compensation from a reserve fund and changed how API keys are stored (now encrypted with a per-user salt). The criticism: the company denied the leak for a long time and only acknowledged it under public pressure.

Does a DCA bot guarantee profit?
No. A DCA bot averages your entry price over time. In a rising market (bull), there will be profit. In a falling or sideways market, you accumulate a drawdown. The bot removes emotional mistakes but does not change your exposure to risk.
