DBS reports that 90 percent of large enterprises are adopting tokenized cash

A recent study highlighted by DBS reveals that nearly 90 percent of large businesses are actively embracing tokenized cash solutions to accelerate their payment processes. According to the findings, stablecoins currently lead the adoption metrics as the most utilized or planned instrument at 63 percent. They are closely followed by tokenized deposits at 53 percent and tokenized money market funds at 52 percent. This data points to a major shift in how major corporations approach corporate treasury and liquidity management.
This trend emerges against the backdrop of traditional financial infrastructure facing increasing demands for real-time settlement and lower transaction costs. For years, cross-border payments and large-scale corporate transfers have relied on legacy systems that often involve delays and high intermediary fees. As digital asset technology matures, financial institutions and corporate treasurers are looking toward blockchain-based solutions to streamline these cumbersome operational workflows.
For the broader crypto market, this institutional push carries significant weight. When major enterprises validate tokenized cash and stablecoins at scale, it provides a strong layer of fundamental legitimacy to the entire digital asset ecosystem. Rather than remaining confined to crypto-native trading and speculative use cases, blockchain rails are increasingly proving their utility in mainstream commercial finance, potentially driving deeper integration between traditional banking and decentralized networks.
Industry observers and fintech experts view these adoption figures as a turning point for enterprise blockchain applications. Many analysts note that corporate demand for tokenized money market funds and stablecoins demonstrates a clear appetite for yield-bearing and instantly settling digital instruments. Financial service providers are responding by building out more robust infrastructure to safely accommodate these high-volume commercial requirements.
As we look ahead, the focus will likely shift toward interoperability between different enterprise tokenization platforms and regulatory clarity across major jurisdictions. If the current trajectory holds, corporate adoption of tokenized cash could transition from pilot programs to core operational standards, permanently altering the velocity and architecture of global business payments.
