What is HTX

HTX is a centralized crypto exchange formerly known as Huobi. Founded in 2013 in China, it is now registered in the Seychelles. In 2023 the exchange rebranded and changed its name to HTX. The platform supports over 700 cryptocurrencies and offers spot and futures trading, staking, crypto lending, and the Primelist launchpad for new projects. The native HT token provides fee discounts. HTX is especially popular in Asia and ranks among the largest exchanges by trading volume. The interface is available in multiple languages.

Trading features

HTX supports spot trading with 700+ coins and hundreds of pairs. Futures – USDT-M and COIN-M perpetuals with up to 200x leverage on BTC and ETH. Margin trading with cross and isolated margin – borrow directly on the platform and trade with leverage on spot. Grid bots and DCA bots for automation are available. Spot fees are 0.2/0.2% – above average, but the HT token gives a 25% discount. Futures fees are 0.02/0.05% – at market level. Asian liquidity helps on major pairs, but on altcoins the order book depth falls behind Binance and Bybit.

Deposits and withdrawals

Crypto deposits are free – ERC-20, TRC-20, BEP-20, Arbitrum, Optimism, and 20+ more networks supported. Card deposits through third-party providers (Mercuryo, Simplex) at 2–3.5% fee. P2P is available with local payment methods. Withdrawals: BTC – 0.0005 BTC, ETH – 0.005 ETH, USDT – 1 USDT (TRC-20). Processing speed is 15–40 minutes for major coins. Minimum deposit depends on the coin; for USDT it starts at 1 USDT.

P2P and buying with fiat

P2P exchange supports multiple local currencies and payment methods. Liquidity is moderate. Some exchange services may have regional restrictions – check availability on the website.

Security

HTX uses cold storage, multi-signature, 2FA, and anti-phishing codes. The exchange publishes Proof of Reserves reports. In 2023, there was an incident involving an $8M hot wallet leak, which was fully compensated. Security measures were strengthened after the management change.

Verification (KYC)

KYC verification is mandatory. A passport or ID plus a selfie is required. Users in certain regions may face additional restrictions. Processing usually takes from 15 minutes to a few hours.

Passive income

HTX Earn offers several passive income products. Flexible staking – withdraw anytime, APY 1–5% on stablecoins, 3–8% on major cryptos. Fixed deposits for 7/14/30/90 days – higher rates, 5–15% depending on the coin and term. Crypto lending – lend your coins and earn interest. Primelist – a launchpad for early participation in new tokens via HT staking. The overall product range is solid, but average APY is lower than Binance Earn or Bybit Earn.

Copy trading and bots

Copy trading on HTX is underdeveloped. The feature exists, but the number of strategies and active traders falls significantly behind Bitget or Bybit. Built-in grid and DCA bots are functional automation tools, but nothing special. If copy trading is your main priority, look toward Bitget or BingX instead.

Mobile app

The HTX app is available on iOS and Android. App Store rating: 4.3/5, Google Play: 4.1/5. Full functionality: spot, futures, P2P, staking, margin trading. Multi-language interface, clear navigation. Push notifications for prices and order execution work reliably. The app is not the fastest on the market – some 1–2 second delays occur under high load.

Customer support

Support works via online chat on the website and in the app (24/7). There is a chatbot that handles basic questions. A live agent responds within 5–15 minutes during normal hours, up to an hour during peak load. Multi-language support is available but not always. Email support for complex cases – reply within 24–48 hours. From our experience, standard issues are resolved quickly, but account unlocking or disputes take longer.

Best for

HTX suits traders who value liquidity in the Asian market. Staking and crypto lending are convenient tools for passive income. Some features may be restricted in certain regions – check availability before signing up.

vs Competitors

HTX vs Binance: Binance is larger in volume, products, and liquidity. HTX is strong in the Asian market and keeps P2P widely available. HTX vs OKX: OKX is stronger in Web3 and DeFi integration; HTX has a wider range of passive income products. OKX is restricted in more regions; HTX is more accessible via P2P. HTX vs Bybit: Bybit is faster for futures and better for copy trading. HTX is older and has more coins (700+ vs 660+), but Bybit's liquidity is higher on most pairs.

Referral program

HTX offers a referral program with commission rebates from invited users' trades. Signing up through our link unlocks bonuses for new accounts.
